During their stay in the UK many international students take the opportunity to find out more about the Christian faith. Many of our traditions, festivals and aspects of British culture are based on our strong Christian heritage, and we will be happy to answer questions or help you find out more.
Whatever your religious background you may be interested in finding out more about the Bible and what Christians believe and practice today.

  • Visiting a church – you are most welcome to visit a Christian church and members of FISH are happy to take you along with them to a Sunday service – you do not have to be a Christian and can just observe or participate as you wish
  • on some of our summer trips we have the chance to visit historic churches with interesting features and traditions eg Oundle, Olney
  • invitations to join in socials and seasonal events at local churches eg Christmas Carols where you will experience a real family and community atmosphere
  •  Bible study/Christian courses – if you would like the chance to explore the Christian faith in more detail and discuss life’s big questions, there are several short courses such as Alpha or Christianity Explored which will help you to understand the Bible message; these are often held in a local home with experienced group leaders and some are specifically for international students

All activities are open to all students regardless of your race or religious background. Sharing conversations about faith helps to encourage multi-cultural understanding and respect for all.
