We run welcome events at the beginning of the academic year which usually include Welcome Party and a Town Trail.
Our annual programme of spring and summer trips focus on local places of interest not easily accessible by public transport and relies on a team of volunteer drivers. Recent destinations have included Stoke Bruerne, a visit to historic Oundle, riverside walk and picnic at Olney, and a trip to Salcey Forest which is usually followed by a barbecue.
‘Thank you for providing the opportunity for us to meet so many new friends, to walk along the traditional English canal and to enjoy the beautiful garden and delicious biscuit…it was a very beautiful journey for us in England…we want to thank you again for the trip very much!’ Chinese female undergraduate, 2010
‘I never forget these joyful moments!’ Indian male postgraduate
FISH trips concentrate on local places of interest and beauty, offering you the chance to see more of our countryside, heritage, and rural village life. In order to keep the cost as low as possible, most transport is offered by volunteer members of FISH driving private cars. By taking part you accept a lift on a friendship basis and are invited to make a small voluntary contribution towards travel costs.
